Introduction

Shirralee Sisson is a Director at Positive Wellbeing. Educated in the UK at York, Liverpool and Lancaster Universities, she has a very wide experience in mental health covering more than 20 years as a mental health clinician working in a wide range of environments.  

 Positive Wellbeing offers a range of courses.(see Website reference below).  Including but not exclusively Stress Management, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Core skills, Improving Self-Awareness, Emotional Regulation, Proactive Mental Health Awareness and Self-Talk and Inner Coach. Positive wellbeing also runs a wide cross-section of courses in aimed at school children, including courses for Teachers at Primary schools, Secondary schools and courses for Parents Of primary aged students, secondary aged students. 

Positive Wellbeing utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Positive Psychology, Mindfulness and DNAv, the Youth Model of Mindfulness and Action during specific training courses.

 Mental health like physical health is very important to maintain and improve our wellness. It’s been estimated that 70% of those who need therapy don’t for whatever reason go and access it. In the podcast we cover easy to follow techniques to improve our mental health and our mental well-being.
